Muscular Dystrophy Association
Investigator Initiated Basic Research Grants
- Research grants comprise the majority of MDA’s research funding awards each year. They are awarded to established investigators to accelerate progress against muscle disease and are typically in the amount of about $100,000 per year for one to three years.

EUREKA Workshop for translational medicine
- Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy is sponsoring 2-4 junior scientists (at graduate/medical student, postdoctoral/resident or assistant professor level) to attend the Eureka Institute for Translational Medicine Certificate Course in Sicily, Italy, May 3rd-9th, 2015. All expenses will be covered.

PPMD Exploratory Funds
- PPMD has developed the PPMD Exploratory Award for the development of preliminary data for new ideas or studies that are highly relevant to Duchenne muscular dystrophy therapy development.

- PPMD has developed the “PPMD Bridge Award” to serve as an emergency temporary funding source for projects that have lost funding or are between funding sources in order that key projects, personnel or infrastructure may be preserved.

- CureDuchenne is a national nonprofit based in Newport Beach, Calif., that raises awareness and funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
External Meeting Support
American Association for Anatomists (AAA)
- AAA’s Outreach Grant Program provides funding for workshops, symposia, and meetings organized by AAA members, either as stand-alone activities or under the umbrella of other national or international societies.
