  • Research grants comprise the majority of MDA’s research funding awards each year. They are awarded to established investigators to accelerate progress against muscle disease and are typically in the amount of about $100,000 per year for one to three years.

Human Frontier Science Program

HFSP Research Grants Website Guidelines for 2016 Program and Young Investigator applications are now available. Applications will be made via the HFSP extranet website which will be operational from mid-January 2015 onwards. Activation of the site will be announced on this page. You must register and obtain a 2016 reference number via the website by March 19th, 2015. Submission of Letters of Intent deadline: March 31st, 2015.

HFSP Young Investigators' Grants

  • Awarded to teams of researchers, all of whom are within the first five years after obtaining an independent laboratory (e.g. Assistant Professor, Lecturer or equivalent).
  • Applications for Young Investigators' Grants will be reviewed in competition with each other independently of applications for Program Grants.

Program Grants

  • Awarded to teams of independent researchers at any stage of their careers. The research team is expected to develop new lines of research through the collaboration. Up to $450,000 per grant per year may be applied for. Applications including independent investigators early in their careers are encouraged

BD Bioscience Stem Cell Grant

BD Stem Cell Grant Website

L’Oréal For Women in Science program

  • The L’Oréal For Women in Science program recognizes and rewards the contributions women make in STEM fields and identifies exceptional women researchers committed to serving as role models for younger generations.
  • The L’Oréal USA For Women In Science fellowship program will award five post‐doctoral women scientists in the United States this year with grants of up to $60,000 each. Applicants are welcome from a variety of fields, including the life and physical/material sciences, technology (including computer science), engineering, and mathematics.
  • Applications will open on February 2, 2015 and are due on March 20, 2015.

UCSD IRACDA grant

  • San Diego IRACDA, Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award that provides three years of mentored, post-doctoral research experience in biomedical sciences at UC San Diego.
  • Applicants can be either near graduation, new PhDs, or postdocs with up to approximately 2 years of postgraduate training and must be U. S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Date: 3rd December 2014 - 1st April 2015 IonOptix is pleased to announce its 2015 Student Travel Grant Competition. We want to support you with your thesis research and give you the opportunity to travel to a conference in North America or Europe. The grant is applicable to final year undergraduates, masters, and Ph.D. students in all areas of the life sciences. Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowships

Summer Research Program in Biophysics

Date: February 15. 2017

  • An 11-week program that introduces undergraduate minority students, disadvantaged students, and students with disabilities to the field of biophysics. Hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the program combines lab experience with lectures, seminars, and team-building activities. More than 75 aspiring scientists have already gained invaluable experience through the course.
