Scanning PCR gel

  1. After the gel is done running, disconnect the power source and remove gel onto a piece of paper or a paper towel
  2. Dry the gel a little and place into the scanner
  3. Turn on the scanner and press the play/forward button at the bottom of the program screen to see your gel
  4. Hit ‘gel’ on the top left, and select the UV302 setting
  5. Select auto exposure and then capture
  6. Once the image appears, hit invert
  7. Use the ‘W’ slider to increase or decrease the brightness of the gel to see the bands clearer
  8. Print the image when you are done and discard the gel
